Full Time Plumbing Apprentice

Summary:

As a Plumbing Apprentice for Rooterman you will be provided with hands-on training in a positive work environment.  We offer advancement opportunities, if looking to further your career in plumbing.  As a Plumbing Apprentice you will be helping homeowners and business owners solve real-life plumbing problems and offering solutions, while also building your own plumbing expertise.

Responsibilities:

• Perform drain cleaning using cable machines, jetters, and related equipment.
• Diagnose and clear blockages in residential and commercial plumbing systems.
• Conduct sewer camera inspections and document findings.
• Deliver excellent customer service and explain recommended solutions.
• Complete job notes, service tickets, and required documentation accurately.
• Maintain equipment, follow safety procedures, and keep vehicles/tools in good condition.
• Light plumbing duties

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and problem-solve in the field.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift 100+ lbs and work in tight or physically demanding spaces.
• Experience in drain cleaning, plumbing, or maintenance

Necessary Experience and Skill Set

• 3-5 years in drain cleaning and light plumbing experience
• Self-starter and independent worker
• Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving
• Effective written and oral communication
• Basic math skills
• Basic knowledge and relevant experience with common plumbing and electrical

Formal Education/Training

• High school diploma/GED

Physical and Work Environment Requirements

Walking and/or standing throughout the day. Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment. The noise level in the work environment and jobsites can be loud. Must have the ability to lift at least 100+ lbs.

Normal Working Hours, Additional Working Hours, and Travel Requirements This is a full-time position, working 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., Monday–Friday, 45 hours per week. This position frequently requires long hours (beyond 8 hours a day), working on-call, and weekend work. Travel is required and is primarily local.
