The Crosslake Train Club, operated by the Northern Minnesota Railroad Heritage Association (NMRHA), is a must-visit destination for model train enthusiasts and families alike. As Northern Minnesota's largest model train display, the museum features O, HO, and G scale layouts, with a new N scale layout under construction as of October 2023. Children can enjoy a hands-on experience with a small, interactive layout designed just for them.
A highlight of the museum is the 1/10 scale replica of the historic Wm Crooks steam engine, restored in 2024. This outdoor exhibit offers a fantastic photo opportunity and an engaging experience for young visitors.
Visitors are welcome to observe or participate in the ongoing construction of the model train exhibits, providing a unique behind-the-scenes look at the hobby.
